The Mexican market has pretty much everything sold in the US, South America, and Europe. And not too expensive, either (relatively speaking). FTAs can be awesome for car enthusiasts. That said, there are some very strange omissions there and drivers/the whole driving environment kinda suck.

Like many things here, they look better than they are

I love the single bar roof rack.

One of the things I miss about living in the San Diego area is seeing the odd SEAT or FIAT with Mexican plates cruising around.

I really wish they sold the FIAT Strada / Ram 700 here...

I’d like to see the Canadian Market uncoupled from the American one, we miss out on some cheap and practial (which is canadian for SEXY) cars that would never sell in the US, But we’d gobble up happily. It’s mostly that forbidden fruit is the most delicious. I’m sure if I had a Seat Ibiza I’d get bored with it quickly.

It’s not good looking, and General Motors has been on my shit list from day one, Chevy would not be my choice, but I wish there was the option. I’m Canadian, so the chicken tax does not apply here, but it still affects us. Why can’t we have a nice small truck? we all know the emperor is nude, why doesn’t he?

It would sell, in Canada, but we’ve changed. in the 60's Canadian Domestic cars were analagous to A merican cars, but more often than not they had 4 doors and a straight six. (still easy to find, and fun to drive if not used for musclecar dick-wagging) We used to be about stoic practicality, now its much more about hrsprrr and shiny and chrome. I’d ride into valhalla with steel rims and painted bumpers and bench seats because I’m not a peacock. (I like having the oldest car on my street, with at least 2 more relics for good measure)

We just want what we can’t have. I’m sure they’re junk like everything else, cars are not my friend, they’re my addiction/affliction. The only guarantees in the automotive world are that the object of you r desire will only dis s apoint you and take your money. All roads lead to this truth. It might be more productive to just drink beer all day, but then you’re not allowed to drive your car, and it’s ALL about the cars. (in all seriousness, a lot of Mexican Market cars would do well in Canada. we’re cheap and gas is expensive)

Thats just a small car with a truck bed, and looks like Ford and GM will be bringing those to the US market. Not that one specifically, but compact car based pick-ups.
If you are actually looking for a true BOF compact truck that is actually classified for freeway speeds (except Japanese Kei trucks), no one in the world makes them, which means no US company is going to rebadge and produce them here like they did with the Colorado/Canyon and now Ranger.

We’re enjoying ourselves, the 2019 suburban is a task to get around in traffic. 3 generations vacationing together so no debauchery is taking place (not that it would anyway)

Canada never got the luv at all. that’s an exotic car up here.

We also got a 2019 burban... yeah, it must be odd driving such a big car in a city (we mostly go up and down the 307)

It’s big, and we’re staying 15 minutes down a single lane back road, I see the appeal of Lupos and Ibizas but they wouldn’t carry 7 of us down the road.

Tbh 3 ibizas probably have a better fuel economy than one suburban
![]() 01/02/2019 at 17:10 |

we’ve seldom topped 35 km/h. so burban not bad on gas if just idling down a backroad.
